WHERE TO EAT
The cuisine of Città di Castello and it’s surrounds produces simple dishes
based on good, fresh and wholesome local produce.
Local trattorias and
restaurants allow you to appreciate dishes made from recipes
passed down through the centuries - homemade pasta, local meats and desserts,
from the great local tradition of pastry and cake making accompanied by excellent
table wines.In the evening pass your time with friends relaxing or celebrating in
pizzerias, in local pubs, cafes or enotecas
all with a welcoming atmosphere. The wide variety of typical dishes available offer a menu composed of antipasti
(starter), main dishes which may be prepared with the prestigious tartufi (truffle),
dishes dressed with virgin olive oil, pressed locally, snacks of ciaccia ( a local
flat bread) and other home made delicacies all finished with a glass of vin santo .
Throughout the year many “sagra”, exhibitions, markets and religious festivals
allow you to taste fresh, local products.
